WVU's Hogan suspended after DUI arrest

MORGANTOWN, W.Va., Sept. 14 (UPI) -- West Virginia senior cornerback Brandon Hogan has been suspended indefinitely after a drunken driving arrest, football Coach Bill Stewart said Tuesday.

Police records indicate Hogan was arrested early Sunday after he was seen driving the wrong way on a one-way street in Morgantown, W.V. Authorities said he was charged with driving under the influence and was released on $250 bond.

"Brandon Hogan has been suspended indefinitely from the Mountaineer football program for breaking team rules," Stewart said. "I, and I alone, will handle the discipline and the punishment in a fair, firm and strict manner. He will rejoin the team when I see fit."

Hogan was arrested in April for disorderly conduct and public urination and has encountered academic issues. He was held out of the majority of spring practice partly due to poor grades.
