NEW YORK, Sept. 6 (UPI) -- New York Jets holdout cornerback Darrelle Revis has agreed to a new contract deal, the team said Monday.
Terms were not disclosed, but the New York Daily News reported it was a 4-year deal worth $46 million, $32 million of it guaranteed.
The agreement ends a month-plus holdout by Revis, a fourth-year player who was an All-Pro selection last year. The 25-year-old had six interceptions and defended 31 passes in starting all 16 games for a third straight year last season, adding 54 tackles.
Revis had three years left on his rookie contract.
"This is an intermediate step to what we hope will be an entire career of Darrelle as a Jet, for him to retire as a Jet and for him to hopefully go to the Hall of Fame as a Jet," New York General Manager Mike Tannenbaum said.
