ATHENS, Ga., Sept. 4 (UPI) -- Freshman Aaron Murphy passed for 194 yards and three touchdowns Saturday in No. 21 Georgia's 55-7 rout of Louisiana Lafayette.
Murphy, who also ran for a score, was 17-of-26 and hit senior wide receiver Kris Durham five times for 120 yards and a touchdown.
The Bulldogs charged out to a 31-7 halftime lead and shut the Ragin' Cajuns (0-1) out in the second half. Georgia (1-0) held Louisiana Lafayette to 21 yards rushing in the game and had 415 yards of total offense to the Cajuns 134.
Louisiana-Lafayette's lone touchdown came with 1:13 to play in the first half on a 60-yard pass from Chris Masson to Ladarius Green.
Masson was 5-of-15 for 76 yards in the air and was intercepted once. He was replaced late in the game by Blaine Gautier, who was picked off twice in nine passing attempts.
