NFL: Arizona 14, Chicago 9

CHICAGO, Aug. 29 (UPI) -- Derek Anderson and Matt Leinart each threw a touchdown pass Saturday and the Arizona defense did its part in a 14-9 pre-season victory over winless Chicago.

Anderson went 7-for-12 for 94 yards and Leinart was 9-for-10 with 84 yards for the Cardinals, who improved to 2-1. Tim Hightower had eight carries for 62 yards.


Stephen Williamms and Steve Breaston caught Arizona's two scoring passes.

The Bears' Jay Cutler was intercepted twice while going 10-for-20 with 129 yards. Dan LeFevour came in and hit 10-of-12 for 100 yards and a touchdown to Juaquin Iglesias for the 0-3 Bears.

A 2-point conversion after the touchdown failed.

Robbie Gould kicked a 22-yard field goal for Chicago.
