MLB: Florida 7, Atlanta 1

ATLANTA, Aug. 27 (UPI) -- Chris Volstad limited Atlanta to a run on six hits over eight innings Friday, pacing the Florida Marlins to a 7-1 decision over the Braves.

NL Eastern Division-leading Atlanta lost its fourth straight, falling behind by five runs after three innings.

Volstad (8-0) did not walk a batter and struck out three in winning for the third time in four starts.

Florida produced four solo homers, coming from Cameron Maybin and Logan Morrison in the first and Dan Uggla and Gaby Sanchez in the sixth. Volstad helped his own cause with an RBI single in the second that gave the Marlins a 4-0 lead.

The Braves could not manage a run until the eighth, when Jason Heyward hit his 15th homer.

Tommy Hanson (8-10) was roughed up for six runs on eight hits in five innings to take the loss.
