WINNIPEG, Manitoba, Aug. 26 (UPI) -- Michelle Wie, her day highlighted by a hole in one, shot a 7-under 65 Thursday and grabbed a three-shot lead after one round of the Canadian Women's Open.

She was already 3-under for the day when her 5-iron at the 183-yard, par-3 11th landed on the green and rolled into the hole. It was her second ace in tournament play.

Wie also holed out from a bunker for a birdie at the par-4 17th as she opened her bid for a second win on the tour.

Sarah Kemp was alone in second place after firing a 68 at the St. Charles Country Club and Suzann Pettersen was in third at 69.

Ai Miyazato, who took over the top spot in the world rankings from Cristie Kerr this week, opened with a 74 and was tied for 63rd place. Kerr shot a 75.
