MLB: Boston 5, Toronto 0

BOSTON, Aug. 22 (UPI) -- Clay Buchholz and a pair of relievers combined on a six-hit shutout Sunday and the Boston Red Sox dominated Toronto 5-0 in a rain-delayed game.

Buchholz (15-5) scattered five hits and struck out seven in six innings of work, notching his fifth straight win. In two appearances against the Blue Jays this season, the Bosox right-hander has allowed only one unearned run in 14 frames.

Daniel Bard hurled a 1-2-3 eighth and Felix Doubront earned his second save with scoreless ninth to give the Red Sox the rubber match of a three-game set that was delayed for twice for a total of nearly 3 hours.

Bill Hall socked a two-run homer and David Ortiz added two hits and an RBI for Boston.

Toronto starter Shaun Marcum (11-7) surrendered three runs on four hits through seven innings.
