MLB: Cincinnati 3, Los Angeles Dodgers 1

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 21 (UPI) -- Brandon Phillips drove in all the Cincinnati runs Friday and Homer Bailey allowed four hits in seven innings in the Reds 3-1 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Cincinnati extended its winning streak to seven and increased its lead over second-place St. Louis in the National League Central to 4 1/2 games.

Phillips had an RBI single in the second and broke a 1-1 tie in the fourth with a two-run base hit.

Bailey (3-2) struck out six and walked two. The only run he gave up came on a squeeze bunt in the second by Ryan Theriot.

Francisco Cordero allowed a one-out single to Matt Kemp in the ninth but Casey Blake grounded into a double play to end the game. It was Cordero's 33rd save.

Carlos Monasterios (3-4) gave up three runs on eight hits over 4 1/3 innings to take the loss. He struck out six.
