TORONTO, Aug. 19 (UPI) -- Rookie running back C.J. Spiller kicked off a wild first quarter with a 31-yard touchdown run Thursday and the Buffalo Bills went on to down Indianapolis 34-21.
The teams combined to score 35 points in the opening period of the pre-season game, played at the Rogers Centre in Toronto.
Peyton Manning threw two touchdown passes and tied the score 21-21 by finding Taj Smith with a 43-yarder in the second period.
Buffalo blanked the Colts the rest of the way while Rian Lindell converted field goals of 24 and 36 yards and Joique Bell scored on a 2-yard run at the end of a 71-yard, fourth-quarter drive.
Manning hit 8-of-15 for 91 yards with one touchdown and the one, costly interception.
