KANSAS CITY, Mo., Aug. 18 (UPI) -- Zack Greinke limited Cleveland to one run over six innings Tuesday and the Kansas City Royals topped the Indians 2-1.
Greinke (8-11) scattered five hits, walked three and struck out four over six innings to pace the Royals to a win in the first of a three-game series at Kauffman Stadium.

Jesse Chavez and Blake Wood held the lead with one scoreless inning apiece and Joakim Soria collected his 34th save in the ninth for Kansas City.
Wilson Betemit broke a 1-1 tie and provided the game-winning hit with a sixth-inning solo homer.
Cleveland starter Jeanmar Gomez (3-1) was tagged with the loss, giving up both runs on seven hits in six innings.
