MLB: Atlanta 10, Washington 2

ATLANTA, Aug. 18 (UPI) -- Martin Prado returned from the disabled list Tuesday with three hits and a pair of RBI and the Atlanta Braves pounded Washington 10-2.

Prado, activated just before the game, made his first start of the season at third base, replacing the injured Chipper Jones, and responded by going 3-for-5, driving in runs in the sixth and seventh innings and scoring three times for the first-place Braves.

Diory Hernandez homered and Melky Cabrera and Matt Diaz each drove in a pair of runs as Atlanta improved its home record to a major league-best 43-16.

Mike Minor (1-0) collected his first major league win in his second career start, holding the Nats to two runs on five hits in six innings, walking two and striking out five.

Scott Olsen (3-5) absorbed the loss for Washington, surrendering three runs on three hits over five innings.
