SANTA CLARA, Calif., Aug. 15 (UPI) -- Chris Wondolowski scored in the 35th minute Saturday, lifting the San Jose Earthquakes to a 1-0 victory over Kansas City.
Wondolowski produced his seventh goal of the season off a feed from Khari Stephenson.

The Earthquakes (7-6-5), who had lost their previous two games, moved within two points of Colorado for fourth place in the Western Conference.
Kansas City (5-9-5) has won just one of its nine road games.
Joe Cannon recorded the shutout for San Jose.
