CINCINNATI, Aug. 10 (UPI) -- Matt Holliday went 4-for-5 and drove in three runs Tuesday to pace the St. Louis Cardinals to a brawl-filled 8-4 win over Cincinnati.

A brawl erupted in the first inning when Cincinnati's Brandon Phillips was at bat and exchanged words with catcher Molina. As both benches and bullpens cleared, Reds Manager Dusty Baker and his Cardinals counterpart, Tony La Russa, argued with each other, and Baker had to be separated from Cardinals pitcher Chris Carpenter.

Reds starter and loser Johnny Cueto (11-3) kicked at Cardinals catcher Jason LaRue during the scuffle.

St. Louis starter Jaime Garcia (10-5) got the win by holding the Reds to four runs on two hits over 5 1/3 innings.
