WASHINGTON, Aug. 10 (UPI) -- Dan Uggla socked a two-run homer in the first inning against Stephen Strasburg and the Florida Marlins went on to an 8-2 victory over Washington.
Uggla gave a rude greeting to the Nationals' rookie phenom -- who was making his first start since July 21 after returning from the disabled list -- homering in the initial frame for a quick 2-0 Florida lead.
Uggla added a two-run double in the fourth, ending the game with four RBI, and Wes Helms drove in a pair to post Florida to a victory in the first of three games at Nationals Park.
Anibal Sanchez (9-7) allowed two runs, both unearned, on five hits in 6 2/3 innings to notch the win, striking out seven.
Strasburg (5-3) suffered his first loss since June 28. He gave up six runs on six hits in 4 1/3 innings.
