NFL: Dallas 16, Cincinnati 7

CANTON, Ohio, Aug. 9 (UPI) -- David Buehler made three field goals Sunday and the Dallas Cowboys defeated Cincinnati 16-7 in the NFL Hall of Fame Game at Canton, Ohio.

Buehler connected from 20 and 34 yards in the first half to post Dallas to a 6-0 halftime lead and made it 9-0 in the third quarter on a 23-yarder after Brandon Williams picked off a Jordan Palmer pass with 9:50 left.

The Cowboys extended their lead to 16-0 with 9:23 left in the game when Brandon Sharpe picked off Palmer deep in the Cincinnati zone and ran it in for a score.

Cincinnati finally dented the scoreboard with less than a minute to go on a 1-yard TD pass from Palmer to Darius Hill.

Dallas quarterback Stephen McGee was 12-of-22 for 116 yards but was sacked four times. Tight end John Phillips caught four passes for 60 yards for the Cowboys.

Palmer ended the night 10-of-20 for 102 yards and two interceptions for the Bengals.

Terrell Owens -- signed by the Bengals after the Buffalo Bills released him during the off-season -- had two catches for 18 yards.
