ANAHEIM, Calif., Aug. 1 (UPI) -- Jered Weaver allowed one unearned run in seven innings and Torii Hunter went 3-for-4 Sunday to spark the Los Angeles Angels to a 4-1 win over Texas.
Weaver (10-7) struck out seven while scattering four hits and three walks en route to only his second win in six starts.
Fernando Rodney tossed a scoreless eighth and Brian Fuentes notched his 20th save in the ninth, enabling the Angels to take the rubber match of a three-game series with the first-place Rangers.
Hunter singled and scored the Angels' third run on Juan Rivera's fourth-inning fielder's choice grounder and Alberto Callaspo added an RBI single for the victors.
Texas ace Cliff Lee (9-5) pitched a complete-game loss. He surrendered four runs on nine hits.
