LOS ANGELES, July 31 (UPI) -- Andy Murray led three of the top four seeded players into the semifinals Friday at the Los Angeles Tennis Open.
Murray, the event's No. 1 seed, finished the day's action by downing Alejandro Falla 7-6 (7-3), 6-1.
That set up a semifinal meeting Saturday with fourth-seeded Feliciano Lopez, who ousted James Blake 3-6, 7-6 (8-6), 6-4.
No. 2 seed Sam Querrey needed three sets to get past Rainer Schuettler while Janko Tipsarevic eliminated third-seeded Marcos Baghdatis. Querrey won over Schuettler 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (7-4) and Tipsarevic was a 6-3, 7-5 winner over Baghdatis.
Querrey has won three tournaments this year and reached the finals on four occasions.
