WASHINGTON, July 31 (UPI) -- Ryan Zimmerman bashed a three-run homer in the bottom of the ninth Saturday, handing the Washington Nationals a 7-5 comeback win over Philadelphia.
Zimmerman then blasted a 2-1 pitch 440 feet to straightaway center field, driving in three runs to give Washington a walk-off victory and a series win against the Phillies.
The clutch homer made a winner of Drew Storen (3-2), who notched the victory despite allowing Carlos Ruiz to put the Phillies ahead with a ninth-inning RBI single.
Roger Bernadina and Ivan Rodriguez each chipped in with two hits and an RBI for the victors.
Ruiz finished 3-for-5 with two runs batted in and Raul Ibanez hit a two-run homer for Philadelphia.
