ETOBICOKE, Ontario, July 25 (UPI) -- Carl Pettersson followed up a record-setting third round by shooting a 3-under-par 67 Sunday to capture the Canadian Open by one shot.
Pettersson, who set course and tournament records Saturday with a 10-under 60, finished at 14-under 266 at St. George's Golf and Country Club near Toronto, one better than Dean Wilson, who held a share of the lead after two rounds and was first after three.
Wilson began the day four shots ahead and at one point extended his lead to five strokes, but the Swede charged back with consecutive birdies at the 13th and 15th and cruised to the win from there, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported.
Pettersson could have had a 2-shot win but he bogeyed the final hole, tapping in a short putt for the win.
Wilson (72) finished one back, while Briton Luke Donald was alone in third at 12-under after carding a 4-under 66.
Nine other players were grouped together at minus-10.
