HOUSTON, July 25 (UPI) -- Wandy Rodriguez and two relievers combined for a three-hit shutout Sunday to carry the Houston Astros to a 4-0 victory over Cincinnati.
Rodriguez (8-11) baffled the Reds on one hit over seven frames, allowing only a first-inning single to Joey Votto. Rodriguez walked two and struck out seven in the dominating performance.
Brandon Lyon and Matt Lindstrom each allowed one hit in an inning of work to finish up the shutout, which enabled the Astros to salvage one win in a three-game set with the Reds at Minute Maid Park.
Hunter Pence and Chris Johnson socked solo homers and Michael Bourn added a two-run double for Houston.
Cincinnati starter Mike Leake (7-2) surrendered four runs on seven hits over 6 1/3 innings. The Reds rookie lost for the first time in six starts.
