CHICAGO, July 24 (UPI) -- Starlin Castro homered, went 3-for-4 and drove in a pair of runs Saturday and the Chicago Cubs downed St. Louis 6-5.

Castro's two-run shot in the third erased a 2-1 St. Louis lead and put the Cubs on top for good and Tyler Colvin went deep in the first inning for the second straight game, lifting Chicago to its second straight win in a three-game series with the Cardinals.

Tom Gorzelanny (6-5) allowed three runs on seven hits over six innings, registering a win in his fourth consecutive start. Andrew Cashner held the Cardinals to one run over two frames and Carlos Marmol hurled a scoreless ninth to nail down the victory.

Blake Hawksworth (4-6) surrendered five earned runs in 4 1/3 innings of work for St. Louis, which lost its third straight and dropped into a tie with Cincinnati atop the National League Central.

Jon Jay collected a pair of hits and an RBI for the Cards.
