CARNOUSTIE, Scotland, July 23 (UPI) -- Corey Pavin, despite a closing double bogey, is tied with Bernhard Langer for the lead after two rounds of the British Senior Open in Scotland.

Pavin finished with his second consecutive 2-under-par 69 and moved into a tie with Langer at 4-under 138 after 36 holes. Langer was in a three-way tie for the lead after the first round and had an even-par 71 Friday.

Ian Woosnam, one of two players to shoot 4-under 67 Friday, jumped from a tie for 27th into third along with Dan Forsman (71), Larry Mize (70) and Jay Haas (69).

The players who shared the Thursday lead with Langer slipped back. Jay Don Blake had a 3-over 74 Friday and is in a tie for eighth and Carl Mason had a 5-over 76 and is tied for 13th.

Langer's round included two front-side birdies and two back-nine bogeys. The bogeys both came on par 3s.

Pavin had a birdie at the sixth hole and eight pars on the front nine. He then birdied 10 and 11 and added another birdie at the par-3 16th hole. But on the par-418th he hit his drive out of bounds and ended up with a 6.
