CHICAGO, July 23 (UPI) -- Tyler Colvin led off the Chicago first with a home run and Geovany Soto and Alfonso Soriano also homered Friday in the Cubs' 5-0 win over St. Louis.

Colvin hit Jeff Suppan's third pitch of the day for his 14th home run of the season. Soto also had 14 homers this year after he led off the fourth inning with a home run.

Soriano chipped in his 18th home run of the season in the fifth inning, making the score 4-0.

The Cubs completed the scoring in the sixth when the Cardinals misplayed a popup by Starlin Castro, allowing Ryan Theriot to score.

Suppan (0-6) gave up 10 hits and five runs over six innings as the Cardinals have lost back-to-back games after an eight-game winning streak.
