LOS ANGELES, July 20 (UPI) -- Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Manny Ramirez went back on the shelf with a calf injury Tuesday only two games after returning from the disabled list.

Ramirez sustained the injury in Friday's 8-4 Dodgers loss to the St. Louis Cardinals. His latest stay on the 15-day disabled list came after an MRI exam Tuesday revealed the right calf strain.

Friday's contest was only the second game back for Ramirez after he had missed time due to a hamstring injury.

The star outfielder is hitting .317 with eight homers and 39 RBI in 61 games for Los Angeles this season.

The Dodgers reactivated catcher Brad Ausmus from the 60-day disabled list to take Ramirez's spot on the roster.
