MLB: Florida 9, Colorado 8

MIAMI, July 19 (UPI) -- Donnie Murphy socked a ninth-inning, pinch-hit home run Monday to lift the Florida Marlins to a 9-8 comeback victory over Colorado.

With the Marlins trailing 8-7 entering their final at-bat, Dan Uggla drew a two-out walk from Rockies closer Huston Street (1-2) and Murphy, pinch-hitting for pitcher Jhan Marinez (1-0), lifted an opposite-field fly that barely cleared the right field wall for the walk-off winner.

Marinez got the win in his first major league appearance despite blowing a lead when he allowed a three-run homer to Colorado's Jonathan Herrera in the eighth.

Mike Stanton went 3-for-4 and bashed a three-run homer for the victors.

Seth Smith, Jason Giambi and Clint Barmes all went deep for the Rockies.
