ANAHEIM, Calif., July 18 (UPI) -- Juan Rivera blasted a tie-breaking seventh inning homer Saturday and the Los Angeles Angels went on to defeat Seattle 7-6.
Rivera launched a pitch from Brian Sweeney (1-1) over the left field wall, unknotting a 6-6 game and sending the Angels to their third straight win over the Mariners.
Rivera ended 3-for-4 with three runs scored, Kevin Frandsen drove in a pair of runs on two hits and Mike Napoli hit a solo homer in the win.
Kevin Jepsen (2-1) was credited with the victory despite blowing a 6-5 lead in the seventh when he allowed a solo homer to Seattle's Daniel Bard.
Fernando Rodney tossed a scoreless eighth and Brian Fuentes nailed down his 18th save for Los Angeles.
Justin Smoak belted a three-run homer and collected three hits for the Mariners.
