MLB: Pittsburgh 12, Houston 6

PITTSBURGH, July 17 (UPI) -- Pinch-hitter Ryan Church struck a go-ahead RBI single and Neil Walker collected three hits Saturday in the Pittsburgh Pirates' 12-6 defeat of Houston.

Church's run-scoring single in the fifth put the Pirates ahead for good at 7-6 and Walker went 3-for-5, drove in a pair and scored three times to pace Pittsburgh, which evened its three-game series with Houston at a game apiece.

Jose Tabata and Lastings Milledge each contributed a pair of hits and two RBI in the Pirates' 17-hit attack.

Javier Lopez (2-1) was credited with the win after getting the last out in the top of the fifth.

Astros starter Bud Norris (2-7) was pounded for seven runs on nine hits in 4 2/3 innings of work.

Hunter Pence had two hits, including a solo homer, for Houston.
