MLB: Washington 4, Florida 0

MIAMI, July 16 (UPI) -- Washington Nationals rookie sensation Stephen Strasburg struck out seven over six innings Friday and teamed with two relievers in blanking Florida 4-0.

Strasburg (4-2) allowed four hits and walked three, lowering his ERA to 2.03. Drew Storen threw two innings and Matt Capps worked one to complete the shutout. Strasburg has recorded 68 strikeouts in his 48 2/3 major league innings.

The Nationals scored all of their runs in the sixth, three coming on a double by Josh Willingham.

Nyjer Morgan and Cristian Guzman singled to open the sixth and Adam Dunn walked with one out to load the bases. Willingham then delivered his key double, moved to third on the throw home and scored on a sacrifice fly by Ivan Rodriguez.

The runs were all charged to starter Ricky Nolasco (9-7), who allowed seven hits and struck out eight in 5 1/3 innings.
