MLB: New York Mets 3, Atlanta 0

NEW YORK, July 11 (UPI) -- Johan Santana hurled seven scoreless innings and Ike Davis homered Sunday in the New York Mets' 3-0 decision over Atlanta.

Santana (7-5) pitched well, yielding five hits, walking three and striking out five to lift the Mets to a win and allowing them to salvage one contest of a three-game set with the Braves at Citi Field.

Bobby Parnell contributed a scoreless eighth frame and Francisco Rodriguez tossed a 1-2-3 ninth to secure his 21st save of the season for New York, which goes into the All-Star break with a 48-40 record, four games behind the first-place Braves (52-36) in the National League East.

Alex Cora and Josh Thole each notched two-out RBI singles for the Mets.

Atlanta starter Derek Lowe (9-8) surrendered two runs on eight hits in 5 1/3 innings to take the loss.
