SEATTLE, July 6 (UPI) -- Yuniesky Betancourt drove in the game winner and scored a run in the 10th inning Monday in the Kansas City Royals' 6-4 win over Seattle.
Russell Branyan hit a two-run home run for the Mariners, who lost for the fourth time in their last five.
With the scored tied 4-4, Callaspo drew a leadoff walk in the 10th inning but was thrown out trying to steal second. Mitch Maier drove a two-out triple to right-center and then scored the decisive run on a single by Betancourt -- who took second on a wild pitch by Chad Cordero (0-1) and scored an insurance run on a single by Scott Podsednik.
Cordero took the loss, allowing two runs on three hits in the 10th.
Joakim Soria allowed one hit in the bottom of the 10th but picked up his 23rd save. Reliever Kyle Farnsworth (2-0) got the win after pitching a perfect inning of relief in the ninth.
Kansas City starter Brian Bannister allowed four runs on six hits over seven innings, with two walks and three strikeouts.
Seattle starter Felix Hernandez held the Royals to two runs on six hits over seven innings, with two walks and six strikeouts.
