PHILADELPHIA, July 6 (UPI) -- Matt Diaz went 3-for-5 and smacked an RBI double in the 11th inning Tuesday, sparking the Atlanta Braves to a 6-3 win over Philadelphia.
The Braves scored three runs in the 11th to break the game open and take the middle contest of a three-game set with the Phillies.
Yunel Escobar led off the frame with a single and came all the way around to score on a perfectly executed hit-and-run play in which Diaz lined a double into the right-center field gap.
Eric Hinske capped the rally with a two-run homer, making a winner of Jesse Chavez (1-1), who hurled a scoreless 10th. Billy Wagner collected his 18th save in the bottom of the 11th.
Raul Ibanez hit a two-run homer for the Phillies.
