MLB: Houston 5, Milwaukee 1

MILWAUKEE, June 30 (UPI) -- Wandy Rodriguez hurled seven steady innings and laid down a suicide squeeze bunt Wednesday in the Houston Astros' 5-1 victory over Milwaukee.

Rodriguez (5-10) held the Brewers to just one run on seven hits, issuing only a single walk and striking out six to post his second straight win after dropping six of his seven previous starts.

He also provided a key play at the plate. With runners at second and third and one out in the sixth, Geoff Blum took off from third with the pitch of Dave Bush (3-6) and Rodriguez put down a perfect bunt, allowing Blum to score for a 2-1 Houston lead.

The Astros broke it open with three runs in next frame, highlighted by Chris Johnson's two-run double.

Johnson finished 4-for-4 and Blum was 2-for-2 with three runs scored as Houston took the rubber match of a three-game series at Miller Park.
