MLB: New York Mets 6, Minnesota 0

NEW YORK, June 27 (UPI) -- Jonathan Niese and three relievers tossed a seven-hit shutout and New York pounded 14 hits in the Mets' 6-0 inter-league win over Minnesota Sunday.

Niese (5-2) held the Twins to four hits and three walks over six innings. he struck out five.

Elmer Dessens, Pedro Feliciano and Bobby Parnell finished the whitewash with one scoreless inning each to help the Mets take the rubber match of a three-game series at Citi Field.

Jeff Francoeur and David Wright each homered, collected three hits and drove in a pair of runs. Ike Davis added a solo shot and Jesus Feliciano went 3-for-5 for the Mets.

Minnesota starter Scott Baker (6-7) was pounded for six runs on 11 hits in 4 1/3 innings of work.
