MLB: Texas 6, Pittsburgh 5

ARLINGTON, Texas, June 24 (UPI) -- Vladimir Guerrero singled home Elvis Andrus from third with two out in the ninth Thursday and Texas won its 11th straight with a 6-5 decision over Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh took a 4-0 lead in the first inning but eventually saw its franchise-record road losing streak stretched to 14 games.

The Texas winning streak is the second-longest in franchise history, surpassed only by a 14-game stretch of success in 2001. The current 11-game streak has been put together against Milwaukee, Florida, Houston and Pittsburgh. Texas begins another three-game series with Houston in Arlington Friday.

Texas trailed 5-3 going into the seventh but a single by Andrus to open the inning, a triple by Michael Young and a single by Ian Kinsler accounted for two runs and tied the contest.

Frank Francisco escaped a two-on, two-out jam in the top of the ninth and Andrus got the winning rally started in the bottom half of the inning by drawing a one-out walk from Steven Jackson (0-1).

Andrus then moved to second on a single by Young and advanced to third on a fly ball to center by Kinsler.

Guerrero followed by reaching for a 1-2 pitch on the outside of the plate and pulling it into left field for the winning hit.

Francisco (6-3) got the win with his one inning of work. Josh Hamilton went 3-for-5, extended his hitting streak to 18 games and raised his batting average to .345.
