MLB: Atlanta 8, Kansas City 5

ATLANTA, June 20 (UPI) -- Eric Hinske's tie-breaking, two-run double in the eighth inning Sunday boosted the Atlanta Braves to an 8-5 win over Kansas City in an inter-league contest.

Atlanta entered the frame tied 5-5, but Blake Wood (0-1) issued two-out walks to Chipper Jones and Troy Glaus and Hinske made him pay, lining a shot into the right center-field gap to score both runners and hand the Braves a sweep of their three-game series with the Royals.

Jones went 2-for-3 with three runs driven in and Omar Infante added a pair of RBI in Atlanta's fifth straight victory.

Craig Kimbrel (2-0) was credited with the win for pitching a scoreless eighth inning and Billy Wagner notched his 14th save for the Braves.

Chris Getz and Jose Guillen both collected two hits and each drove in a run for Kansas City, which took its fourth loss in five games.
