ATLANTA, June 19 (UPI) -- Troy Glaus bashed a solo homer in the bottom of the ninth inning Saturday to hand the Atlanta Braves a 5-4 inter-league win over Kansas City.
Glaus, the first batter faced by reliever Robinson Tejeda (2-3) in a tie game, launched a pitch deep into the left field stands for his 14th homer, giving Atlanta its sixth win in seven games.
Billy Wagner (5-0) was credited with the win after tossing a scoreless top of the ninth. Atlanta starter Kris Medlen surrendered three earned runs on five hits in 6 1/3 innings.
Scott Podsednik and Jason Kendall each knocked in a pair of runs in the Royals' loss.
