MLB: Philadelphia 6, New York Yankees 3

NEW YORK, June 16 (UPI) -- Jamie Moyer celebrated the 24th anniversary of his major league debut with a three-hit effort Wednesday that pushed Philadelphia past the New York Yankees 6-3.

Moyer (7-6) went eight innings, allowing the Yankees two runs while striking out five. He has a career record of 265-201.

New York had won its previous four games.

Shane Victorino had a three-run triple during Philadelphia's four-run second and both Ryan Howard and Jayson Werth hit solo homers in the third to give the Phillies a 6-1 lead.

A.J. Burnett (6-5) was touched for six runs on six hits in 3 1/3 innings. The Yankees had a nine-game home winning streak come to an end and the Phillies won for the second time in six outings.

Robinson Cano hit his 14th homer of the year for the Yankees in the second and Jorge Posada had a solo shot in the fifth.
