Noel, 3 assistants let go in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio, June 15 (UPI) -- The Columbus Blue Jackets said Tuesday interim Coach Claude Noel and three assistants are being let go.

The team had announced June 8 Scott Arniel will coach the team going forward.

Noel had taken the interim head coaching job Feb. 3 after Ken Hitchcock was fired, producing a 10-8-6 mark en route to a 32-35-15 record that left the Blue Jackets in last place in the Central Division. Columbus has reached the post-season just once it its nine-year history.

Joining Noel in the unemployment line are assistants Gary Agnew, Gord Murphy and Barry Brennan.
