MINNEAPOLIS, June 13 (UPI) -- Troy Glaus went 4-for-5 with two homers and Kris Medlin tossed eight solid innings Sunday in the Atlanta Braves' 7-3 victory over Minnesota.
The Braves came out fast with a four-run first inning, highlighted by a Glaus RBI single and Eric Hinske's run-scoring double, and were never headed as they won the rubber match of a three-game, inter-league series at Target Field.
Glaus went deep with solo shots in the fifth and seventh innings, and Martin Prado went 3-for-4 with a homer for the victors.
Medlin (4-1) got his first win against an American League opponent, limiting the Twins to three runs on four hits and one walk and fanning five.
Kevin Slowey (7-4) was pounded for six runs (five earned) on nine hits over 4 2/3 innings.
Delmon Young hit a three-run homer in Minnesota's loss.
