MLB: Detroit 7, Chicago White Sox 2

CHICAGO, June 9 (UPI) -- Brennan Boesch's three-run homer highlighted a seventh-inning Detroit rally Tuesday and the Tigers went on to bash the Chicago White Sox 7-2.

Carlos Guillen went 3-for-5 and added a homer and Ryan Raburn connected for a two-run double in the Tigers' six-run outburst, which gave Detroit its fourth win in six games.

The rally saved Armando Galarraga from racking up a loss in his first start since tossing his near-perfect game last week. Galarraga was touched for seven hits and two walks in five innings.

The win instead went to Brad Thomas (3-0), who hurled two scoreless innings of relief for Detroit.

White Sox reliever Matt Thornton (2-3) was saddled with the loss, surrendering five runs during the Tigers' big inning.
