MLB: Los Angeles Angels 4, Oakland 2

OAKLAND, Calif., June 8 (UPI) -- Bobby Abreu socked a two-run homer and Scott Kazmir pitched 6 1/3 strong innings Monday in the Los Angeles Angels' 4-2 win over Oakland.

Kazmir (5-5) surrendered only one run on five hits, improving to 9-3 lifetime against the A's. He has held Oakland to just the one run in 19 1/3 innings.

Erick Aybar and Howie Kendrick chipped in with RBI for Los Angeles, which won for the ninth time in 10 games.

Ben Sheets (2-5) failed to register a win in his sixth straight start. He yielded six hits and four runs over six innings as the A's lost for the fifth time in seven tries.

Jake Fox homered to left-center with one out in the seventh for the A's.
