MLB: New York Mets 6, Florida 1

NEW YORK, June 5 (UPI) -- Jon Niese hurled seven solid innings in his return from the disabled list Saturday and the New York Mets downed Florida 6-1.

Niese, making his first start since May 17 due a mild hamstring strain, limited the Marlins to one run on six hits, allowing only one walk and striking out six to help give the Mets their third win in four games.

David Wright bashed a two-run homer, driving in three runs in all. His RBI single off Brian Sanches in the fifth scored Ike Davis for a 6-0 lead, moments after Davis' two-out double had chased Florida starter Nate Robertson (4-5).

Robertson was lit up for six runs on seven hits over 4 2/3 innings.

Ronny Paulino led the Marlins at the plate with two hits, driving in their lone run.
