MLB: New York Mets 4, San Diego 2

SAN DIEGO, June 2 (UPI) -- Mike Pelfrey scattered four hits over eight innings Tuesday to key the New York Mets' 4-2 win over San Diego.

Pelfrey (8-1) yielded just one run, walking two and notching eight strikeouts to win his sixth straight outing. The Mets hurler has now given up two runs or less in each of his last four starts.

Francisco Rodriguez held on to record his 10th save for New York despite giving up a run in the ninth inning.

Ike Davis belted a two-run homer and David Wright chipped in with a solo shot for the Mets.

Padres starter Wade LeBlanc (2-4) lasted 5 1/3 innings, surrendering seven hits and two runs.

San Diego got a 3-for-4 night and an RBI from Nick Hundley in the loss.
