BOSTON, June 1 (UPI) -- Victor Martinez went 5-for-5 and hit an RBI double to put Boston ahead in the sixth and the Red Sox rolled to a 9-4 win over Oakland.
The Red Sox battled back from a 4-0 deficit, scoring three times in the fifth on a three-run blast by Adrian Beltre to pull to within a run.
In the next frame facing Craig Breslow, the Sox tied the game on a Dustin Pedroia groundout and Martinez followed with a liner that bounced over the center field wall, scoring Darnell McDonald for a lead Boston wouldn't relinquish.
Martinez added four singles and drove in two, and Beltre ended 3-for-5 in Boston's third straight win.
John Lackey (6-3) got the victory despite allowing 12 hits in six innings.
Oakland's Tyson Ross (1-4) was saddled with the loss after failing to get anyone out in the sixth inning.
