RENTON, Wash., May 28 (UPI) -- The Seattle Seahawks cut running back LenDale White Friday less than five weeks after they traded for him during the draft.
A report on the NFL Network later in the day suggested White could be facing a four-game suspension for violating the league's drug policy.
"It became apparent at this time that LenDale was not ready to be a member of the Seattle Seahawks," General Manager John Schneider said. "It just did not appear to be the right fit at this point in our program."
White played at USC under new Seattle Coach Pete Carroll. He spent four seasons with the Tennessee Titans, the best of which came in 2007 when he rushed for 1,110 yards.
After White gained just 222 yards and scored twice in 2009 while playing behind Chris Johnson, he was traded by the Titans on the final day of the draft.
