MLB: Oakland 7, Baltimore 5

BALTIMORE, May 27 (UPI) -- Kevin Kouzmanoff finished off a five-run eighth with a three-run double Thursday that rallied the Oakland Athletics to a 7-5 decision over Baltimore.

The Athletics put on a late comeback after the Orioles had scored five unanswered runs to take a 5-2 lead. Oakland won for the fifth time in six games.

Gabe Gross put the Athletics in front with a two-run homer in the first, but Baltimore nibbled away against starter Gio Gonzalez and reliever Tyson Ross for five runs on eight hits.

Oakland then sent 10 men to the plate in the eighth, doing its damage against Brad Bergesen and Mark Hendrickson (1-3).

The Athletics put their first two men on base in the eighth against Bergesen and then made two outs, giving Baltimore a chance to get out of the inning.

Ryan Sweeney, however, singled in the first run of the inning and Kurt Suzuki loaded the bases with an infield single. Another infield base hit by Jake Fox brought home a second run and Kouzmanoff followed with a double to deep center that cleared the bases.
