ST. LOUIS, May 23 (UPI) -- Felipe Lopez blasted an RBI single off the left field wall in the 10th inning Sunday, handing the St. Louis Cardinals a 6-5 victory over the Los Angeles Angels.

Scot Shields (0-2) issued a walk to Matt Holiday to lead off the Cardinals' 10th, and one out later hit David Freese with a pitch and walked Yadier Molina to load the bases.

Trevor Bell came in to pitch and Lopez greeted him by lining a pitch over the drawn-in outfielders to drive in the winning run.

The walk-off victory gave the Cardinals the rubber match of a three-game inter-league series with the Angels and allowed them to finish a seven game homestand at 5-2.

Freese went 3-for-4 with two RBI and Molina drove in a pair in the Cards' win. Ryan Franklin (3-0) notched the victory by pitching two innings of scoreless relief.

Mike Napoli hit a three-run homer for the Angels.
