PITTSBURGH, May 23 (UPI) -- Ryan Doumit cracked a game-winning home run in the bottom of the 10th Sunday to lift the Pittsburgh Pirates to a 3-2 victory over Atlanta.
After retiring the first two batters in the frame, Takashi Saito (0-2) offered a pitch to Doumit, who blasted a line drive that cleared the right field wall and allowed Pittsburgh to salvage one contest of a three-game weekend series at PNC Park.
Doumit finished 3-for-5 with two RBI. His walk-off homer made a winner of Octavio Dotel (2-0), who hurled a scoreless top of the 10th.
Pirates starter Zach Duke turned in a fine performance, yielding only one earned run over seven innings.
Pittsburgh held a 2-1 entering the eighth by Evan Meek allowed Atlanta to tie it on Eric Hinske's homer.
