OAKLAND, Calif., May 20 (UPI) -- Miguel Cabrera and Magglio Ordonez both had two RBI Thursday and the Detroit Tigers pounded out 12 hits in downing Oakland 5-2.
Detroit captured both games of the series and won for the fourth time in five outings.

Jeremy Bonderman (2-2) picked up the victory, allowing only three hits and a run with eight strikeouts over six innings. Jose Valverde put two runners on in the ninth, but did not give up a run and picked up his 11th save.
Oakland has lost seven out of nine.
Ordonez put Detroit in front with a two-run single in the third and Cabrera hit a two-run homer in the fifth to give the Tigers a 5-1 cushion.
Tyson Ross (1-2) was charged with the loss, surrendering three runs on seven hits in four innings.
