MLB: Arizona 5, Florida 1

MIAMI, May 17 (UPI) -- Edwin Jackson mystified Florida Monday, hurling eight shutout innings in the Arizona Diamondbacks' 5-1 victory over the Marlins.

Jackson (2-5) struck out 12 and walked two in his second win since being obtained from the Detroit Tigers in the off-season.

John Hester doubled, collected two hits and drove in a run for Arizona. Conor Jackson and Steven Drew each drove in a run to boost the Diamondbacks to their second win in three games.

Marlins' starter Chris Volstad (3-4) went five innings, surrendering four runs on seven hits.

Cody Ross drove in the only run for Florida.
